A tale of history's most famous sexual
adventurer, the Marquis de Sade. A nobleman with a passion for writing,
he lives in a madhouse where a beautiful laundry maid begins to smuggle
his writings to a printer, defying orders from the resident priest. The
writings turn France upside and put the whole country into a sexual
frenzy, until a conservative doctor tries to put a stop to his writing
for good.

This film wasn't as good as I
had hoped due to the setting of the film. The acting was great on the
part of Geoffrey Rush, who carries the only good part of the movie. I
am still amazed at the ferocity and passion of Geoffrey Rush's acting
in this movie and wish he had won the Academy Award for Best Actor.
